The use of this website and these Terms and Conditions shall be governed by the laws of New Zealand.
Redwood Aquatics reserves the right to vary these Terms and Conditions at any time.
Please note: We only supply within New Zealand and will not ship overseas.
Prices displayed for goods are valid only for purchases made through this site. Prices may differ to those in store, but the price will remain as advertised for any item bought through the site. Special prices are displayed are valid for the dates specified or while stocks last. All prices are displayed in NZ dollars and stock sold in NZ is inclusive of GST. Redwood Aquatics reserve the right to alter prices at any time and for any reason. Any variation to an order (once accepted) will result in price adjusting to reflect the variation.
Product range and availability
All efforts will be made to fulfil any order placed with Redwood Aquatics, however, we accept no responsibility should we be unable to supply goods ordered for any reason.
Full payment should be made by the customer for any online order via credit card or direct credit.
Freight Costs and Delivery Charges
The cost of freight will be added onto the sale when an order is made. Redwood Aquatics can quote the customer prior to the processing of the sale with a freight cost based on actual order, if required – please request this first via our contact page. Otherwise, the order will be processed with freight charged on total actual order. We do not charge anymore than what it will cost us to send.
Goods will not be shipped to a customer until payment has been received in full. Confirmation times will vary depending on the method of payment used.
Redwood Aquatics may withhold delivery of all or any part of an order at their own discretion.
Because of the associated risk with shipping livestock, we take no responsibility for livestock once they leave the premises.
We use PBT Couriers and Fastway Couriers for live fish shipments as these are the only carriers who will transport live fish for us.
- Please note: shipment is at your own risk. We have no insurance cover with either courier and their agreement to courier is on this basis.
- Both carriers take no responsibility for loss or damage or fish losses in transit or late delivery (causing mortality).
Variation/Cancellation of order
The customer may vary or cancel the order if the goods are deemed to be faulty.
Returns of products/refunds
Under the Consumer Guarantee Act 1993, we will replace or repair any faulty products sold.
- Warranty for electrical goods is 12 months upon proof of purchase (unless otherwise stated).
- We are happy to exchange goods within seven days provided goods are in new condition and in original packaging, but NO CASH REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN.
- Where a return is due a fault, damage or shipping mistake, customers will have 7 days from the date of receipt of goods to contact Redwood Aquatics.
If the product is faulty or not suitable you may exchange it for the same product or something more suitable providing:
- The goods exchanged are to the same value or less as the product that was originally purchased.
- The goods deemed unsuitable are in original condition and not opened or damaged in any way.
Delivery Costs for Returns
Any delivery costs to do with the exchange of goods must be taken care of by the customer, including return delivery to the customer.
If a return is due to a shipping mistake, fault or product damage, then the costs will be incurred by Redwood Aquatics. Redwood Aquatics will provide courier tickets or a prepaid bag to return items.
Many of our products come with their own warranties. Manufacturer’s instructions must be followed to activate these.
Instructions for the use of goods must be followed, and the goods must not be used for any other purpose other than which they were intended. The customer is responsible for the necessary skill and care in the handling of the product.
The Customer acknowledges and agrees that Redwood Aquatics accepts no obligation or liability for any advice given. Goods are accepted by the Customer entirely at the customer’s risk.

Any liability that may arise whether in contract, tort or otherwise for any loss, damage or injury arising directly or indirectly from any defect in or non-compliance of the goods supplied or any other breach of obligations hereunder shall not exceed an amount equal to the price paid by the Customer for those goods.
Redwood Aquatics will not be held liable for any indirect loss or damage of any kind nor damage or loss caused by the Customer’s servants, agents, buyers or other persons.
Through normal business, Redwood Aquatics may collect customer information including contact and delivery details, purchase history and credit card details.
This information will remain confidential and will be held securely, and will not be disclosed to any third party without written consent of the owner, except in cases where the information is necessary to carry out the transaction entered into by the customer.
Customers who do not wish to have any personal information collected and used for any other purpose other than that required to complete the transaction will need to express this in writing at the time of purchase.
Access to Personal Information
Personal information relating to the customer is available under the Privacy Act 1993, and the customer may request changes to the information held.
Redwood Aquatics offer a secure online payment facility using an SSL 128 bit encryption. Clients can securely enter credit card details which are then forwarded to Redwood Aquatics to be processed.
